Street and Houses [ Sep 2 2009 by AO ]

I took a walk on an old street in front of a temple.
A part of a row of old houses and streets still remains along with the avenue which leads to the temple.
Without exception for local flourishing shopping district, a shopping  district now becomes a gathering of closing shutter streets and also some vacant lands and parking lots were noticeable by remaking the land to residential places at haphazard.
The old houses and streets as I said earlier means the street with old  houses having wooden black lattices in succession, but, on the opposite side across the road, some ready-built houses for sale painted in pastel color were standing vacantly without any fences.
That scene made me feel even ridiculous.
I think that we should be interested in the reality that our indifference to such a row of houses and streets is decisively devaluating the value of the town where we live.
