NETHERLANDS EMBASSY IN BERLIN [ Feb 10 2010 by AO ]

Netherlands Embassy in Berlin designed by OMA indeed shows typical architectural masterpiece of OMA.
From its appearance, it is easily understood that his principal objective is focused on its circulation space which is called "TRAJECTORY".
That is an architecture of his emphatic work for which it is most suitable to express that such circulation systems as corridor, staircase, and slopes, which are winding from ground to rooftop, are forced to be thrust into the great volume of 9 layers in terms of number of floors, by adjusting complicated functions.
At any rate, such his strong intention comes up in our mind that he really liked to create such space.
In his diagram, Joggers in this circulation space are collaged.
From the picture taken after completion of the building, such people's performances as enjoying talks for appointments, looking at TV tower of Berlin beyond the window, telephoning leaning on the wall, sitting on the bench, which are not purposed are overflowing at the place where the people's circulation is actually purposed.
That is such a place as likely to induce people's communication, and so, it seems that moving around there would become quite enjoyable.
